Fraud & Crime Prevention

Zeettu Zero-Tolerance Policy โ€” Effective May 11, 2026

Zeettu is built on trust. Our platform facilitates community savings and rotating credit associations between real people who rely on each other to act honestly.

Any attempt to exploit that trust โ€” through fraud, deception, manipulation, or criminal activity โ€” is a direct attack on every member of this community. We treat it as such.

This policy describes conduct we absolutely prohibit, the consequences that follow, and our commitment to supporting anyone who has been harmed. It applies to all members, organisers, and any person acting in any capacity on this platform. There are no exceptions.

1 Conduct We Prohibit

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive โ€” we reserve the right to act against any conduct that we determine is fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful, even if not explicitly named below.

1.1 โ€” Pyramid and Ponzi Schemes

Operating or participating in any arrangement where:

  • Returns to earlier members are funded by recruiting new members rather than by genuine savings activity.
  • The fund has no realistic mechanism for all members to receive an equivalent benefit.
  • Recruitment is incentivised with commissions or rewards that depend on others joining beneath you.
  • The underlying savings structure is fictional or unsustainable by design.

Pyramid and Ponzi schemes are illegal in all territories where Zeettu operates. We will report them to the relevant financial crime authorities without hesitation.

1.2 โ€” Insider Collusion and Bogus Transactions

Coordinating with other members โ€” inside or outside the platform โ€” to:

  • Fabricate, falsify, or confirm payments that were never genuinely made.
  • Manipulate auction bids to predetermine the winner or artificially suppress/inflate pots.
  • File false payment confirmations to make a fund appear active when it is not.
  • Coordinate with an organiser to extract funds while deceiving other members that the fund is legitimate.
  • Use multiple accounts โ€” whether your own or those controlled by associates โ€” to manipulate fund outcomes.

1.3 โ€” Product Misrepresentation (Badu Zeettu Funds)

In discounted product funds (Badu Zeettu), the organiser makes a direct commitment to deliver a specific product. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Listing a product with a false or exaggerated description โ€” incorrect model, specifications, brand, or condition.
  • Providing a fabricated retail reference to justify an inflated price.
  • Delivering a product materially inferior to what was declared โ€” including different brand, model, or condition.
  • Delivering counterfeit, replica, or stolen goods and presenting them as genuine.
  • Listing a product the organiser has no capacity or intention to source and deliver.

1.4 โ€” Inflated Valuations and Money Laundering

Deliberately setting product retail values, fund pot sizes, or contribution amounts that are grossly disproportionate to genuine market value with the intent to:

  • Introduce, move, or conceal proceeds of criminal activity through the platform.
  • Create an artificial paper trail to legitimise unlawful funds.
  • Exploit the fund structure to transfer money between parties under the guise of legitimate savings activity.
  • Circumvent financial reporting thresholds or currency controls.

Zeettu's anti-money laundering controls flag anomalous contribution sizes and valuation patterns. Suspicious activity is reported to relevant financial intelligence authorities.

1.5 โ€” Identity Fraud and Impersonation

  • Registering an account using another person's identity, documents, or phone number.
  • Operating accounts on behalf of someone who has been banned or suspended.
  • Creating synthetic or fictitious identities to participate in funds.
  • Misrepresenting your role, relationship, or financial position to gain membership in a fund.

1.6 โ€” Coercion, Threats, and Harassment

  • Using threats, intimidation, or emotional pressure to recruit members into a fund.
  • Threatening members who attempt to raise concerns or report misconduct.
  • Using the platform's communications to harass, coerce, or extort any member.

1.7 โ€” Platform Manipulation

  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the platform's integrity controls.
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities to alter fund data, payment records, or member trust scores.
  • Submitting false dispute claims or KYC documents to deceive our review process.

2 Consequences

We do not issue warnings for serious fraud. Where we determine โ€” based on platform data, member reports, or third-party information โ€” that a member has engaged in prohibited conduct, we will act immediately and proportionately. Consequences include any or all of the following:

2.1 โ€” Immediate Account Suspension and Permanent Ban

The offending account will be suspended without notice pending investigation, and permanently banned upon determination of guilt. All associated accounts โ€” where we identify a pattern of linked activity โ€” will be reviewed and may also be suspended.

2.2 โ€” Public Disclosure of Offenders

We will publish the details of confirmed offenders on a publicly accessible page at zeettu.com. This disclosure may include:

  • The offender's verified name (as established through KYC).
  • The nature of the prohibited conduct.
  • The fund(s) involved and the period of activity.
  • Any amounts defrauded or at risk.

We publish this information in the public interest. Community members have a right to know who has been found to have defrauded others on this platform. This record is permanent.

2.3 โ€” Full Support for Legal Action by Victims

Any member who has been harmed by fraudulent conduct on this platform will receive our full cooperation in pursuing civil or criminal legal action. This includes:

  • Providing transaction records, communication logs, identity data, and audit trails as evidence.
  • Issuing sworn affidavits or certified records for use in legal proceedings.
  • Coordinating with legal representatives and law enforcement on the victim's behalf.
  • Providing supporting documentation for police reports, court filings, and financial crime complaints.

We will not hide behind data protection clauses to shield offenders from the legal consequences of their actions. Where disclosure is lawfully requested and serves justice, we will disclose.

2.4 โ€” Zeettu May Take Direct Legal Action

Zeettu (operated by Nanekma Pvt Ltd) reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings directly against offenders, independently of any action taken by individual members. This may include:

  • Civil claims for damages, including platform reputational harm and cost of investigation.
  • Criminal complaints filed with police and financial crime authorities.
  • Injunctions to prevent ongoing fraudulent activity.
  • Recovery proceedings where misappropriated funds are traceable.

2.5 โ€” Regulatory and Law Enforcement Reporting

We are a responsible platform operating within the financial services ecosystem. We will proactively report suspected criminal activity โ€” including fraud, money laundering, and financial crime โ€” to:

  • The Sri Lanka Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
  • The Sri Lanka Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID).
  • Relevant regulatory bodies in any other territory where the activity occurred.
  • Any law enforcement authority with jurisdiction over the offence.

We do not wait to be asked. Where we have credible evidence of criminal activity, we report it.

3 Reporting Misconduct โ€” Whistle-Blower Commitment

We actively encourage members to report suspicious activity. You are our most effective line of defence against fraud. If you observe conduct you believe violates this policy, report it immediately through the platform's abuse reporting tool or by contacting us directly.

We commit to the following whistle-blower protections:

  • Confidentiality: Your identity as a reporter will not be disclosed to the subject of your report, other members, or the public without your explicit consent.
  • No retaliation: Any attempt to retaliate against a person who has made a good-faith report is itself a serious violation of this policy and will result in immediate account action against the retaliator.
  • Action guarantee: Every credible report will be reviewed. We will not ignore reports for reasons of commercial convenience.
  • Feedback: Where we are able to do so without compromising investigations, we will inform you of the outcome of your report.

Good-faith reporting โ€” even if the underlying concern ultimately proves unfounded โ€” will never be held against you. We distinguish clearly between a member who raises a concern honestly and a member who files a malicious false report to harm a competitor or adversary. The latter is itself a violation of this policy.

4 How to Report

To report suspected fraud, financial crime, or a violation of this policy:

  • In-app: Use the "Report" function on any fund, member profile, or transaction.
  • Email: Send a detailed report to fraud@zeettu.com with as much supporting information as possible.
  • Emergency: If you believe a crime is in progress or you are being threatened, contact your local police directly. We will cooperate fully with any resulting investigation.

When reporting, include the fund name, the member involved, the nature of the conduct, dates, and any screenshots or records you have access to. The more detail you provide, the faster we can act.

5 Our Commitment to You

We built Zeettu because community savings โ€” done honestly โ€” genuinely improve lives. Every fraudulent actor on this platform is an attack on that mission and a direct harm to the people around them.

We are not neutral observers. We will use every tool available to us โ€” technical, legal, regulatory, and public โ€” to identify offenders, hold them accountable, and make affected members whole where we can.

If you have been defrauded through this platform, you are not alone. Contact us. We will stand beside you.

This policy is issued by Nanekma Pvt Ltd, operators of Zeettu (Company Registration: PV 71082, Sri Lanka). It supplements and is incorporated into the Zeettu Terms & Conditions. In the event of a conflict between this policy and the general Terms, this policy prevails with respect to fraud and criminal conduct. This policy was last reviewed on May 11, 2026.
